Meritus University's admissions and financial policies are geared toward providing you with clear instructions and maximum flexibility as you progress toward earning your degree. These policies have evolved to accommodate the specific needs of adult students, with consideration for your professional and personal commitments. Some of the more common questions and situations are addressed in the following sections:
Refund Policy
Because our courses are designed for working adults, we realize that unforeseen circumstances can arise that might require you to interrupt your studies. As long as you notify us prior to the day of your first class session that you won't be able to attend a scheduled class for which you have paid, we will refund 100 percent of the tuition collected for that course. In the event that you are forced to leave a course you have already started, there are a number of options available to you, both academic and financial. Naturally, how much of the class has been completed and the academic progress achieved, will influence which options will be suitable for you. For complete details, please talk to your financial advisor.
International Credit Evaluation
If you have completed courses at another international university, you may submit your international credits for an evaluation to determine which of them may be transferred in to Meritus University. All academic records from international universities and countries other than Canada are evaluated by the evaluation service provided by Meritus University. Your Enrolment Advisor can assist you through the process.
A certified translation of the transcripts must be provided. A certified transcript is a true and accurate translation of the original document performed by an accomplished translator. All translations should bear the signature and name of the translator and the name and address of the organization to which the translator is affiliated. The translation does not take the place of the transcript. Both documents are needed in order to evaluate, matriculate and complete the verification process. The University will accept translations from:
- Issuing institution - the school itself provides an official translation which is "validated" by the Registrar or other school official, or
- Certified translator from an official translation service or a professional organization which provides certified translations as one of its services. Such a service will employ only certified translators who have successfully passed required examinations and are governed by specific rules/regulations.
- Foreign language professor from a regionally accredited institution.
- Embassy or consulate official.
